The theme of IBIS 2010 – Raising the Standard – reflects the growing importance of practical, effective and auditable standards relating to every as pect of the repair process and customer interface.
Leading the speaker line up for IBIS 2010 are the speaker of the House of Commons, the Rt Hon John Bercow MP and the global business guru Dr Frank-Jürgen Richter. Speaker Bercow will be delivering the IBIS breakfast presentation Raising the Standard whilst Dr Richter will be making the opening presentation in Session I – Post apocalypse: the new world order and its impact on our market. Richter is the author of Tigers Leap: Asian Business Goes Global and one of the world’s most significant voices on corporate globalization and Asian business. Also speaking in this session will be will be automotive industry analyst David Bailey, Professor of International Business Strategy and Economics at Coventry University Business School.
Other speakers already confirmed for IBIS 2010 include Howard Leach, Head of the Aircraft Safety Academy. Leach, one of the aeronautical industry’s leading safety standards experts, has extensive experience in the development of standards programmes and will draw upon his knowledge to identify the challenges and pitfalls the collision repair market will need to overcome in bringing robust, effective and trans-national standards programmes to fruition.
As is being demonstrated in the UK collision repair market with the advent of PAS125 and the Thatcham/BSI Kitemark programme, insurance companies will play a central role in driving forward repair standards initiatives. In Session IV - Why we need standards? – an insurer’s perspective Bob Tschippert, Head of Automotive, North America–Zurich Financial Services will be giving IBIS delegates an insurance insider’s views on why we need standards. Also participating in this session will be Dr Richard Nathschlaeger who has extensive knowledge of the Russian and Eastern European collision repair markets. He is the CEO of Audatex Osterreich & Executive Vice President Central & Eastern Europe.
For our Delegates departure Breakfast presentation, we will be returning to the core theme for IBIS 2010 Raising the Standard with speaker Wing Commander Andy Green OBE. Holder of the world speed record and the only man to have broken the sound barrier on land, Green believes there is much the collision repair industry can learn from the innovative methods he and his team used to overcome seemingly impossible odds, how they ‘raised the standard’ through goal setting combined with unprecedented levels of international co-operation and how his new Bloodhound SSC team have engaged with schools and technical colleges in their bid to break 1000mph on land.
Co-ordinating proceedings at IBIS 2010 will be conference director David Lingham, aided by leading sector experts Quintin Cornforth and David Murby who, along with David Lingham, will be acting as session moderators.
